It is time for everyone to be reminded that unlike many other states Chicago Police and Fire actually contribute towards their own pension fund from their salary. 9% out of each and every pay check goes towards the pension fund. Don’t let people get caught up in the lie that first responders are asking for something for nothing. It just isn’t so. Tell your friends, family, and neighbors.
