It’s the Politicians’ Fault

The politicians and citizens of Illinois have to keep in mind that the problem with the pension liability is not the fault of the people who have worked decades to earn a pension but rather the politicians who have squandered Illinois’ tax dollars and revenues.


THE state finances in Illinois are an ugly mess of deficits, unpaid bills and tax refund backlogs. At the heart of the problem lies a public pension liability estimated at a present value of $80 billion.
