The Senate passed HB 3813 regarding union representatives recieving pension credit for time spent working for the union – by a vote of 50- 0 – 1 . This bill was also amended to provide exemption for downstate police and fire as well as Chicago police and fire as our members are sworn and subject to call in to respond to emergencies. The bill’s applicaction is retroactive and there is significant question about its consitutionality.
